This policy explains how the EAS service provider directory at eas.hetifederation.org handles personal data. It is maintained by the Federation of Horses in Education and Therapy International AISBL (“HETI”).

What this site does
This site is a public directory of equine-assisted services (EAS) providers. Providers create a listing themselves; visitors can search and browse those listings. There is no charge and no paid membership requirement for a listing.
Information we collect
Account information
Accounts on this site are not created here. You sign in using your HETI account from hetifederation.org via a secure single sign-on connection. When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from that account in order to create and identify your user on this site. Your password is never handled by this site.
Service provider listing information
If you create a listing, we store the information you enter in the listing form.
Please note that everything you enter in the listing form is published publicly, including the name of the responsible person and the address. Do not enter information you do not want to appear on a public web page.
Technical information
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which may include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These are used for security and to keep the service running reliably.
Legal basis for processing
We process listing information on the basis of your consent, given when you choose to submit a listing to a public directory. We process account and technical information on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
Third party services
- Google Maps — the directory and listing pages display a map provided by Google. When a page containing a map loads, your browser contacts Google’s servers directly and Google receives your IP address and information about the page. This is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
- HETI single sign-on (hetifederation.org) — used to authenticate you when you log in.
- Email delivery — transactional email, such as password reset messages, is sent through an email delivery service on our behalf.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and no cookies are set when you simply browse the directory. When you log in, WordPress sets functional cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to secure form submissions. Google may set its own cookies in connection with the map.
How long we keep your data
Listing information is kept for as long as your listing remains in the directory. If you ask us to remove your listing, we delete it. Account information is retained while your HETI account remains active. Server logs are kept for a limited period as part of normal hosting operations.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
You can edit or correct most of your listing information yourself at any time by logging in to your account. For anything else, please contact us using the privacy contact address above.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page.
